Contribution limit

The legal ceiling on what you can put into a tax-advantaged account each year. Every account on this site carries its 2026 figure, stamped and sourced: 401(k) $24,500; IRA $7,500; HSA $4,400/$8,750. The limits are why the order exists — room in the best accounts is rationed, so the order spends the ration wisely.

For your first $100: Your first $100 fits under every limit. The limits start to bite exactly when you are doing well — a good problem, and the sequencer tells you when you hit one.
